Merle H. Mueller finished his race entering joyfully into eternal life on November 27, 2014. Merle was born to Emro and Helen Mueller on November 21, 1936 in Grand Chute, WI. He married the love of his life, Susan (Gooding) Mueller on June 18, 1961 and she preceded him in death on September 14, 2013. Merle was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Shirley Hermes and an infant brother.
The Lord blessed them with five children: Rain (Chris) Dow; April (Lyndon) Bartle; Dawn (Steve) Olsen; John (Tina) Mueller; and Daniel (Amy) Mueller, 19 grandchildren: Stephen, Joy, Sarah, Hannah, Peter, Michael (Rachel), Natasha, Orlondo, Jadah, Maurice, Savanna, Cortney, Jake, Josh, Caitlin, Calissa, Nick, Kelly, and Alexandra; two great-grandchildren Carter and Isabella.
Merle was president and CEO of Schlafer Supply until his retirement.
He served his country with the U.S. Army in Korea.
He served his Lord Jesus as an advocate for children with Compassion International and as Visitation Pastor with his wife at Valley Harvest Church.
He served his community as a volunteer at Theda Care Hospitals with his Greyhounds in pet therapy. He was a member of the Appleton Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow.
Merle enjoyed traveling both domestically and on international mission trips to many countries.
His love for all people was evident by his smile.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 at Valley Harvest Church, 2216 American Drive, Neenah, with Pastor Bidal Torrez officiating. Merle’s family will greet relatives and friends on Monday at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Compassion International for the unsupported children’s fund. Checks may be made out to Compassion International 12290 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80997 or at www.compassion.com in Merle’s honor to help needy children around the world.
