LaVera Irene (Tesch) Simon

LaVera Irene Simon, age 89, died peacefully at her home, with her family at her side on Sunday, November 26, 2017 where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Rodger.

She was born on April 5, 1928 in the town of Lind the daughter of Martin and Florence (Bucholz) Tesch. LaVera was united in marriage to Lester Simon on August 30, 1947. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah and was a member of the Ladies Aid/Christian Women Circle of the church. LaVera will especially be remembered for her love of family, casino trips and going to lunch with her many cousins and good friends and enjoyed going on fishing trips with her family.

LaVera is lovingly survived by her children, Connie (David) Tiedt, Carla (Paul) Bagstad both of Appleton; Leslie (Deborah) Simon, Menasha; David Simon and special friend Julia, New London; and Cynthia (Rodger) Eberly, Freedom; 16 grandchildren, Jennifer (Kyle) Stoehr, Jessica (Michael) Johnson, Jill (Matthew) Magill, Lisa (Darrin) Grassman, Michelle (Fred) Noyes, Lance (Nikki) Hoier, Justin (LaVonne) Simon, Nicole Demerath and special friend Kent, Jacob (Samantha) Simon, Kristi (Matthew) Palmer, Sheri (Chris) Brzinski, Stacy (Andy) Arendt, Laura (Troy) Olson, Troy (Darcy) Peterson, Joshua (Amber) Peterson and Chase (Brooke) Eberly; two step-grandchildren, Bryan (Michele) Bagstad and Paula (Damon) Fuhrman, 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a daughter-in-law, Mary Simon, a granddaughter, Memorie Peterson and three great-grandchildren, Troy Peterson, Jr., Angel Free Noyes and Ayden Peterson, and two brothers, Harold (Donna) Tesch and Eugene (Alice) Tesch.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 407 Oak Street Neenah, with the Rev. Tony McKenzie officiating. Interment will be in Concordia Cemetery, West Bloomfield at 3 p.m. LaVera’s family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 9-10:45 a.m.

Our family was blessed with an early Christmas celebration prior to her declining health. She left so many special memories. Everyone who met her thought she was so “cute” and wanted to take her home. We carry our mother in our hearts forever. Mom-your favorite words always to us were “I’ll be okay” and Mom…now you are more than okay. You’re in your Heavenly Home. Love, your Family.
