Gordon C. Bahr, Jr., age 68, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, August 8th, 2011. He was born June 19, 1943 to Gordon and Beverly Bahr Sr. of Florida. Gordon obtained his Bachelor's degree in art at River Falls Wisconsin University in 1966 and proceeded to teach art. Gordon was a veteran in the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. On May 12, 1978 he was united in marriage to Barbara Schroeder and together they celebrated 33 years of marriage. Gordon was employed by Mills Fleet Farm for almost 3 decades, till his retirement. Gordon loved going fishing with his friend Aaron, watching Brewer and Packer games with family and taking long walks with his granddaughter. He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Aaron, daughter Breanna, granddaughter Reilly Pullen, sister Nancy Bahr of Dallas, TX; brother Mike (Juanita) Bahr of Rockford, IL; He is further survived by his wife's family, Carol Tyler of Greenville; Earl (Suzanne) Schroeder of Greenville; Jeanette Strobel of Kaukauna; Joanne (Joseph) Verhasselt of DePere; Donald (Margaret) Schroeder of Appleton; Doris Culver of Chicago, IL; Duane (Karen) Schroeder of Appleton; Larry (Nancy) Schroeder of Hortonville; and Gordon (Jean) Schroeder of Appleton; with many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Beverly Bahr Sr., son Brandon, his father and mother-in-law Carl and Esther Schroeder, brothers-in-law Merle Strobel and Eugene Tyler. Gordon's funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church, 136 W. Seymour St., Appleton, with Rev. Dennis Belter officiating. Friends will be received directly at church on Friday from 9:00am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Gordon's name is being established.
