Yvonne Hannemann Obituary

Yvonne (Immel, Kasper) Hannemann of Appleton, WI, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 26, 2024. She was born on March 1, 1933, daughter of Raymond and Louise (Behle) Immel. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1951. Yvonne married Donald S. Kasper in 1953 and relocated to San Diego, California where Don was stationed in the Navy. After completion of service, they returned to Appleton WI, where they partnered with Yvonne’s parents in business, Immel-Kasper Plumbing. Yvonne was a very proud member of Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church, where she was the first female president of the church council. During this time, she helped to procure the purchase of the church organ.

Yvonne and Donald Kasper remained married until his death in 1970. During that time, they continued to work together in their business while building their family including 5 children. In the summer of 1976, Yvonne attended her 25th year class reunion where she was reunited with Donald O. Hannemann, a childhood friend from her early school years at Zion Lutheran Church School. They were engaged on Don’s birthday, September 29, and married on December 3, 1976. Yvonne became the stepmother of his three children. They were married for 44 years until Don’s death in 2021.

Yvonne enjoyed spending time with her family. This included outdoor activities such as fishing, walking through the woods, and camping out. She and Donald loved to travel throughout the country with their children and grandchildren. Mom also became an avid fan of the Brewers, Packers (season ticket holders since 1977) and the Badgers. She was an incredible baker. So much so, we encouraged her to open her own bakery, but she kept those talents for her family and friends to savor.

Yvonne was proceeded in death by her parents, her husbands, her daughter, Marie Yvonne Kasper, her sister, Violet (Immel) VanderZanden, her sisters-in-law, Zelda (Kasper) Meyer, Dorothy (Kasper) Linzmeyer, Mildred (Kasper) Miller, Evelyn (Anderson) Kasper, Joan (Prasher) Hannemann, brothers-in-law, Micheal Kasper, Jesse Kasper, Roy Linzmeyer, Harold Halverson, Sylester Nett Sr, Harold Meyer, Elmer Miller, Carl Smith, Clem VanderZanden and Robert Hannemann.

She is survived by her sister-in law, Eileen (Kasper) Smith, her children, John (Geri) Kasper, William (Mary) Kasper, Donell (Robert Bouwman) Delveaux, Chris (Jana Schroeer) Hannemann, Jim Kasper, Grace Kasper, and Darrin (Lisa) Hannemann. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Per request of the family, a private family service will be held. Online condolences may be offered at www.valleyfh.com.
