William "Bill" Moede Obituary

William "Bill" Moede, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 4, 2026. He was born on July 20, 1958 in Appleton, WI. On May 1, 1982, he married the love of his life, Lisa Reed, in Appleton. Together they built a life centered on family, friendship, laughter, and countless memories.

Throughout his career, Bill worked as a broadcast engineer in local radio and also as Technical Support Director for CESA7, where he was respected for his expertise, dedication, and willingness to help others. Beyond his professional work, Bill generously shared his talents throughout the community. He often times lent his technical expertise as “Sound God” to local bands and musical productions, helping create memorable experiences for performers and audiences alike. Bill was an avid model railroader and a proud member of the Paper Valley Model Railroad Club. He treasured the many TOAD train sessions he shared with his fellow train knob friends, whose friendship brought him great joy over the years. A devoted supporter of Scouting, Bill spent many years as a Boy Scout leader, helping guide and mentor young people while sharing his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, kayaking, and spending time in nature whenever he could.

Family was the center of Bill's world. His happiest moments were spent with those he loved most. He especially cherished time with his twin grandsons, whose lives brought him immeasurable pride, laughter, and happiness. Bill had an eclectic taste in music and rarely passed up an opportunity to enjoy live performances. He was also a lifelong baseball fan and a fiercely loyal supporter of the Chicago Cubs, standing by his team through every season, whether they were winning or losing. He often joked that football season was simply a way to pass the time until baseball season started again.

Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the lives he touched will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who knew him. Bill's legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, and the countless people whose lives were made better by his kindness, knowledge, and love.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Moede; children: Brooklyn (Daniel Wirth), Whitney Moede, and Jordan Moede; grandsons: William and Winston Wirth; siblings: Linda Hidde and Troy Schuh; 8 brothers and sisters-in-law; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Gerald and Julia Moede; and his in-laws: Maurice and Janice Reed.
