Keddell, Virginia J. “Ginny” “Cookie”
As a result of a fall in early March that she was unable to fully recover from, our dear “Cookie Joyce” entered eternal life on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Virginia J. Keddell was born on March 2, 1950 to the late James “Art” Keddell and Mildred F. (Vogel) Keddell. She was born in Appleton, WI and resided in her childhood home her entire life. She earned the name “Cookie” as a fond nickname from her dad and it stuck. She was a member of the first graduating class of Appleton East High School in 1968. After graduation, she worked at American Can for 30 years.
Ginny loved the outdoors; feeding the birds and squirrels. She also loved to camp, travel, play cards (especially “31”). It gave her great joy to garden, plant flowers and decorate her yard for every season and holiday.
While never having children of her own, she had many fur-babies and spoiled them rotten: Freckles, Rudy, Buffy, Gus, Angie and now Kasey.
Virginia was preceded in death by her siblings: Tom, Dick, Connie Solberg, Gloria, and Jack, niece Linda and nephew Kurt.
Her only surviving sibling is Harry (Connie). She was a bonus mom to nephew and nieces: Ron (Betty) Solberg, Laurie (Roger) Hebbe, Wendy (Michael) Fischer and Tammy Fischer. She is also survived by in-laws Sharon, Sharon, Ron (Ruth) Solberg, and Vicki. Nieces and nephews: Leroy, Cindy, Sharon, Lynn, Annette, Penny, Tony, Brenda, Kelly, Andy, Shane, Mandi, and Raymond, as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews. And boyfriend, Dennis Jurgensen and their beloved dog, Kasey.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Living Tree Estates and Moments Hospice for the loving care they gave to Cookie in her brief time there.
Also, special mention of her close friends: Carol and Steve Otto, Jackie Hernandez, Bill and Patti Boyle, and Jim and Linda Wolfe for their ongoing love and support.
A private prayer service will be held for the family.
