Violet "Toni" A. Young

Violet “Toni” A. Young, age 91, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. She was born in Hillman, MI on May 29, 1933 to the late Stewart Keetch and Allie (Pratt) McKenzie.  Toni was raised by the late William Mckenzie who she considered her father.  Toni was united in marriage to Stanley Young on June 20th 1953 in Appleton Wi

Toni attended Hale High School in Hale, MI where she was a cheerleader and lettered in basketball. Toni moved to Appleton after meeting Stan. After retiring the couple moved to Paris, Tennessee, where they bought a home in the country. She enjoyed having her friends and family visit, especially her grandchildren in the summer months and spending time in the Gazebo Stan built for her. Stan's passion was metal detecting, Toni loved spending time in the parks he visited.  Toni enjoyed traveling, especially to visit family. She adored the time spent with her grandchildren, and the many adventures shared with her sister and best friend Jackie. Toni also loved cooking for her family, and had a big heart and fondness for her numerous family pets throughout the years.

Toni is survived by her children: Ron (Amy) Young, Rhonda Young; grandchildren: Amie (Pat) VanVreede, Jacob Young, Ariel (Jesse Sr.) Bartelt; great grandchildren: Harper, Balen, Leira, Jesse Jr.; sister, Darlene (Darell) Bessey; and sisters-in-law: Susan and Nancy McKenzie, and many nieces and nephews. She was further preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Young; siblings: Jackie (Jerry) Schoultz, Lila (Terry) Clement, Harold (Pat) McKenzie, Arnold McKenzie, Lyle McKenzie and her nephew Greg Bessey and niece Tammy Schoultz..

Private family services will be held. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Matthews of Neenah and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for all the care and compassion given to Toni.  We would also like to thank our family friend Dan Jackson for always helping and being there for Toni.
