Timothy W. Havinga, 67, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Tim was born on June 2, 1958, to Peter and Mary (Cops) Havinga in Appleton. On July 21, 1984, he was united in marriage to Charlene Konkol. Together they shared 41 wonderful years of marriage, building a loving family and creating countless cherished memories.
Tim was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing year-round and was especially proud to own the fishing boat once belonging to Clay Matthews. He took great pride in his Corvette and found joy in working in his yard. Halloween was his favorite time of year, and he was known for his incredible creativity in designing and crafting unforgettable Halloween costumes. He also grew giant pumpkins, with his largest weighing more than 225 pounds. Tim had a remarkable talent for carving wood into intricate pieces of art and enjoyed collecting coins which was a hobby he inherited from his father.
One of Tim's greatest joys was sharing his passions with his family. Whether he was teaching someone a new fishing technique, mixing up a new drink, or planning a trip, he loved creating memories with family. Some of his happiest times were spent taking trips to Eagle River, Florida and the Wisconsin Dells with family. These special memories will be cherished forever by those who knew and loved him.
Tim is survived by his wife, Charlene; children, Michelle (Aric) Aldrich, Sara (Bryan) Santkuyl, and Jacob (Stephanie) Havinga; grandchildren, William, Johnathan, and Melanie; his mother-in-law, Mary Jane Konkol; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Louise (Todd) Sewall, Lynn (fiancé Tom) Bevers, Anthony (Sandy) Konkol, and Dave Herrmann; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Rachael; siblings, Wilma (Bill) Beckman, Tom Havinga, and Maria Herrmann; his father-in-law, Clifford Konkol; and his brother-in-law, Tom Bevers.
The funeral service for Tim will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. For online condolences, please visit www.valleyfh.com.
