Stella "Ruthie" Hoffmann

Stella “Ruthie” Hoffmann, age 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. She was born on November 30, 1932 in Maple Creek, WI to the late Franklin and Magdaline (Weber) Samson.

Ruthie was a graduate of Shiocton High School. On February 17, 1954 she married the love of her life, Francis Hoffmann. They shared 26 wonderful years together until Francis’s passing on March 13, 1980. She worked as a clerk analyst at St. Elizabeth Hospital for many years. Ruthie was also a woman of very strong faith and was a very active, long time member of St. Pius X Church in Appleton. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and knitting.

Ruthie is survived by her children: Theresa Butler, Henry Hoffmann, Jeffrey Hoffmann, Samson (Vickie) Hoffmann, and Timothy Hoffmann; grandchildren: Oshanna (Brian) Kaddatz, Chelsea (Michael) Bushman, and Sondra Mortier; great-grandchildren: Tovi Kaddatz and Emerson Mortier; and siblings: Kenny (Pam) Samson, Pearl Steffens, Geri Raddatz, and Judy (special friend Diane) Samson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; siblings: Rosie, Blanche, Huey, Betty, Francis, and Michael; and son-in-law, Ernie Butler.

A Funeral Mass for Stella will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 500 W Marquette St., Appleton. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. with inurnment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Appleton.
