Sandy D. Verbrick, age 89, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on July 16, 2026, following a brief illness. She was born on June 25, 1937, daughter of the late Chauncey and Pauline (Broughton) Olmstead.
Following graduation from high school, Sandy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and dedicated her career to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. She spent many years at ThedaClark Hospital, where she cared for her patients with skill, compassion and a gentle heart.
Sandy was also a devoted member of AA for more than 30 years. Through her commitment to the program, she offered hope, encouragement and a listening ear to countless individuals, helping many find strength and a path to recovery.
In her free time, Sandy was an avid reader and traveler. She adored her grandchildren and spending time with them was her greatest love. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Don Verbrick; daughters: Wendy (Glenn) Reha and Sue (Mark) Fahrenkrug; daughter-in-law, Vicki (Don) Van Deurzen; grandchildren: Sarah (Blake) Anderson, Jessie (Cody Friday) Wegner, Amanda (Ethan Tipner) Verbrick, Ben (Chelsea) Fahrenkrug and TJ (fiancé, Johannah) Reha; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other friends.
Sandy was preceded in death by her son, David Verbrick; daughter, Sarah Verbrick; her parents, Chauncey and Pauline Olmstead; a sister, Bonnie Scott.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division Street, Neenah. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. For online condolences, please visit www.valleyfh.com.
