Ronnie "Mac" C. McIntire

Ronnie McIntire passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday February 18th, 2026, at the age of 86. Ronnie was born May 3, 1939, in Seymour, WI to Raymond and Sylvia McIntire. Ron married the love of his life Dorothy on September 3, 1966, and went on to raise 5 kids including twins.

Ronnie spent a lifetime of serving others. At the age of eighteen he joined the United States Marine Corps and served 4 years. He then went on to his lifetime calling of being a Police Officer for the Appleton Police Department where he spent a long-tenured career, retiring in 1999 as a Lieutenant. In his retirement, he served as an alternate crossing guard for the city, helping keep kids safe. He stayed active in his retirement attending activities, events, and meeting his current and retired friends from all aspects of his life.

Ronnie enjoyed trap shooting, deer hunting, fishing, attending trade shows, and simply spending time catching up with friends over breakfast or a meal. He also had a lot of love for his dogs and spent many years with a dog by his side.

He is survived by 5 children: Theresa (Reg) Penner, Martin (Hope) McIntire, Katherine (Kip Kachinski) McIntire, Michael McIntire, and John McIntire; 5 Grandchildren: Savannah Karnes, Charity (Trevor) Magnuson, Jeremy (Brittany) Goffard, Jacob Kachinski, and Fred (Sam) Gorzelitz. Six amazing great great-grandchildren and his Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law George & Phyllis Staidl, Cousin Sally Natchek, and 5 nieces and a nephew. He is also survived by his fearless companion Bruno.

He is preceded in death by his Wife - Dorothy in 2020, Father and Mother - Raymond & Sylvia McIntire, Sisters-in-law; Mary Kay Rooyakkers and Donna Staidl. Brothers-in-law; Calvin Krause and Everett Rooyakkyers.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 26th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 3009 N. Meade St. Appleton, WI with Pastor Jones officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Entombment will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of other gestures of sympathy, the family requests charitable donations to the Outagamie Humane Society or a local Veterans organization.
