Ronald "Ron" Posselt Obituary

Ronald “Ron” Posselt, age 91, gained his wings to be with his lord and savior and loved ones on Monday, February 12th, 2024. He was born on May 30th, 1932 to the late Paul and Erna Posselt in Appleton, Wisconsin. Ron was a proud Korean Army Veteran and dedicated many years to the paper industry which gave him many lifelong friends. Keeping a once a month lunch date was something he always looked forward to. His career allowed him an early retirement in which he was blessed to motor home and bike around the country. Ron was not a fan of sports, he often needed to be informed of the rules, but when it came to his children and grandchildren, he never missed a game. He was a man of few words, except for when it came to talking about cars. He always said he could have had a fancy sports car but he traded that dream for something better, a station wagon with wood paneling and a beautiful family. He had a great sense of humor, a sense of humor that he kept to the very end. The end was not fair to him or his family but he smiled through it all, especially upon meeting his great granddaughter, Ellie.

Ron is survived by his daughter and son in law Kristin and Brad Dvorachek, his grandson Brett (Karlee) Dvorachek and his great granddaughter Eleanor, a very special Nephew Gary(Jan) Knoke, a special niece Cara (Shane) Zipperer, the entire Dvorachek family, his brother in laws David Falck and Roger (Shirley) Falck and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, his son Derek, his parents Paul and Erna Posselt, his sisters and brothers in law Elsie (Martin) Grunwald, Gert(Jake)Knoke, Velma(Martin) Melcher, Marilyn(Wallace) Semrau and Joan Falck.

Per his wishes, a private family memorial service will be held at a later time.

“Popster we were lucky enough to have you live with us for the last few months which was beyond  a blessing.   You will always be my favorite person and I thank you for giving Derek and I the best life.   And I thank you for picking us to be your children.   You never gave yourself the credit you deserved as our dad but I hope you knew we thought you were the best and you were so beyond loved.”  Kristin

Special thanks to Sharon S. Richardson Hospice and Rivers Bend in Manitowoc for their outstanding care of Ron.
