Ronald Clarence Rose, 84, of Appleton WI, died peacefully by his wife’s side on May 26, 2022.
Ron was born December 13, 1937 in Neenah WI to Cecilia (Plagowski) Rose and Clarence Rose. He grew up in Menasha, WI, where he graduated from Menasha High School in 1956. Ron was proud of his service in the US Army, Wisconsin National Guard and the US Coast Guard. On April 23, 1960 he married Sharon Pomeroy of Kaukauna WI. Ron worked as a laboratory technician at Consolidated Badger Cooperative, later known as Foremost Farms USA, for 39 years.
He was a history enthusiast that enjoyed collecting various war memorabilia and firearms. He especially enjoyed his travels to historical battlefields and monuments. Ron was also proud of his trips to Germany, Poland, Austria, Yellowstone National Park and Mt. Rushmore. He had a passion for trains and motorcycles. He was a lifetime AMVETS member and a member of the American Civil War Battlefield Trust. Ron was also a parishioner at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Appleton for almost sixty years, where he devoted his time and talents. Most of all, Ron was an example of family dedication and hard work. The life he lived was filled with love and kindness; he made an impact on many that will be remembered and cherished.
Ron is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sharon (Pomeroy) Rose; son, Randy (Judith) Rose; daughter, Laura (John) Plachinski; daughter, Angie (Greg) Buss; granddaughters; Melissa, Ashley (Adam), Amanda, and Jessica; grandsons; Bryan, Zachary (Kayla), Kevin (Emily), and Evan; 6 great-grandchildren; Dominic, Isaiah, Xain, Owen, Ezekiel, and Joanna as well as other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Cecilia and Clarence Rose; his grandparents, Paul and Mary Plagowski; his son, Michael Rose; his great-grandson, Brayden Rose, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, in-laws, and long time friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 9 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W Marquette St. Appleton, WI. Visitation will begin at 9:30am, until the Memorial Mass to follow at 11:30am. Ron’s family would like to thank the staff at the ThedaCare Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit as well as the staff at Brewster Village for their compassionate care.
