Robert Arnold Fischer

Robert Arnold Fischer, 80, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 5, 2026. He was born on July 21, 1945, to Robert and Marion (Hickenbotham) Fischer in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Bob was born and raised in Appleton. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and did 2 tours in Vietnam. He was decorated for valor in combat. When he returned, he started his career at Appleton Papers and retired after 45 years.

During Bob’s free time and retirement, he was an avid motorcycle rider. He has been to every state in the US and even rode to Alaska 3 times, passing through all the provinces of Canada on his cycle. He also loved landscaping and maintaining his yard and making things grow.

He is survived by his wife Suzi; children Nathan (Katie) Fischer, Jason (Tammy) Fischer, Heidi Smythe; sisters Sherry (Bruce) Kranzusch, Susan (John) Rosera, Sarah (Dale) Lind, Sandy (Don) Sonkowski; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his step daughter Farrah Frances Fisher.

There will be a time of visitation on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 10am to 1pm at Valley Funeral Home – 2211 N Richmond St. Appleton WI 54911. A funeral service will follow at 1pm with burial to take place at Riverside Cemetery immediately following the service.
