Robert Charles (Bob) Bliven, 78, died June 14, 2021 at Brewster Village Nursing Home in Appleton, Wisconsin. He was born November 7, 1942 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to William and Beatrice (Kuhrt) Bliven. Bob spent his early years in Barron County, Wisconsin. Upon graduating from Barron High School, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Lackland, Texas, Galena, Alaska, and Dayton, Ohio.
Bob lived in Appleton for the last 50 years and spent the majority of his working career as a Powerplant Engineer at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute, retiring about 2007. Throughout his life Bob enjoyed operating his ham radio under the license call letters K9YKO, playing his guitar, listening to music and ballroom dancing.
Bob is survived by a son and daughter, David Bliven and Sara Bliven, both of Appleton; four grandchildren Miguel, Diego, Isabella and Lily; two sisters Judy Larson of Pardeeville, WI and Theresa Kornuth of Catawba, WI; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Priscilla Bliven and Gloria Beckom.
