With deep love and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Robert C. Aldi, age 75, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton on Friday, August 22, 2025.
Bobby, known affectionately by his family, was born in Milwaukee on March 10, 1950, to the late Leo and Linda (Cherubini) Aldi. After graduating from Solomon Juneau High School in 1968, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving on active duty from 1969 to 1973, and later reenlisting in the Air Force Reserves from 1986 until his retirement in 2010. On October 25, 1975, he married the love of his life, Vicki Jo Gerhard.
Rocky worked as an International parts specialist for 42 years before retiring in 2014. Over the course of his career, he was employed by International Harvester Company in Milwaukee, Baur Truck in Appleton, and Packer City International in Green Bay.
Rocky carried his service and discipline into every area of his life. He cherished family traditions, Saturday visits to Mohnen’s Family Restaurant, and gatherings filled with laughter and love. He was also a familiar face at Menards, always tinkering, creating, and dreaming up new projects. As a Green Bay Packers security worker, he shared his strong sense of dedication with pride.
Yet above all else, he was “Nonno,” a grandfather who delighted in every laugh, adventure, and everyday joy of his nine grandchildren. His kindness, humor, forehead kisses, and gentle presence left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Vicki Jo; their children Mario, Francesca (Jordan) Blair, and Nino; grandchildren Valentina Blair, Luciana Blair, Nora Aldi, Briella Blair, Michael Blair, Gretta Aldi, Vincente Aldi, Nico Aldi, and Emilio Aldi; siblings Jim (Bonnie) Aldi, Dan (Barb) Aldi, Jeanne Domagalski, Lisa (Dan) Rebatzke, Bonnie Aldi, and Mary (John) Barbian; mother-in-law Nancy Kaishian; brothers and sisters-in-law Georgia (Rick) Eisenreich, Mike (Mary) Gerhard, Gretchen (Brian) Henning, and Dan (Lynn) Gerhard; and numerous cherished nephews and nieces who knew him as Uncle Bob, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Mercedes Aldi, and Nancy’s husband, Mesrope Kaishian.
A private graveside service has taken place at Riverside Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N Richmond Street, Appleton. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of service, with military honors to follow.
The family would like to thank Harrison Fire Rescue, the first responders, and the medical staff at Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital for their care and support.
Though he will be deeply missed, Robert’s legacy of service, laughter, and love will forever live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
