Rita (Jamison) Petit, age 97, of Appleton, WI went to her heavenly home on November 7, 2021. Rita was born December 19, 1923 on a small farm in Greenville, WI to the late Robert and Nellie (Gartlin) Jamison. Rita was united in marriage to Victor Petit, in 1946 and celebrated 68 years of marriage together. Victor preceded her in death in 2014.
Rita made friends easily and was admired by many because of her positive attitude and willingness to help anyone anytime. Family was everything to her. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A meal was never complete without homemade desserts and ice cream. Rita enjoyed camping and traveling through the US, Canada and the Bahamas. She received many compliments on her flower gardens and never minded when people would stop and take cuttings.
Rita is survived by her son David (Linda) Petit, and her daughters; Deborah (Frank) Doolittle, Sally (Peter) Teasdale, Darlene (Paul) Huelsbeck, six grandchildren; Jeannae Zeutzius, Paul Petit, Jesse Prey, Melissa Prey, Janet Doolittle-Hall, John Doolittle and nine great grandchildren. She is further survived by brother-in-law, Wallace Hedtke.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband Victor, beloved daughter Susan Petit, grandson Philippe Petit, siblings; Frances Jamison, Mary Tessen, Margaret Suprise, Anna Suprise, Ruth Voster and Evelyn Hedtke.
Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 404 W. Lawrence St. Appleton, WI with Fr. Jerry Pillar officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30am until the hour of service. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
