Richard K. Hauk, age 76, of Appleton, passed away on Jan 17, 2022.
Richard was born on September 12, 1945 in Appleton Wisconsin to Bertschy and Mildred Hauk. Richard grew up in Dale, Wisconsin and attended New London High School where he graduated in 1963. Richard went on to attend UW-Whitewater where he earned a degree in Business Administration. Richard was a member of the ROTC while in college and was commissioned by the US NAVY in 1968. He served in Washington DC before being honorably discharged in 1973. Rich went on to spend the bulk of his career as the warehouse manager of Valley Packaging.
Rich loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time fishing, and hunting. He was an active member of both the Readfield and the Outagamie Gun Club. Rich also had a love of airplanes and was especially proud of the two planes he built with his brother, Loren.
Richard married the love of his life, Bonnie Stammer, on May 23, 1981. A favorite pastime of theirs was exploring the Western United States on his Spyder Motorcycle. He was a devoted and loving husband and father who enjoyed mentoring his son, Trevor from building the fastest PineWood Derby race cars to sharing his love of the outdoors and taking trips to the cabin up north.
Rich is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Stammer) Hauk and their son Trevor (Appleton); his brother Loren Hauk (Nancy) of Dale; his sister Rubell Larson (Jerry) of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Carol Ann Adams.
Funeral services will take place Friday, Jan 21, 2022 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St Appleton. Visitation will be from 9am to the time of the service at 11:00 am.
