Renee A. Kerk age 85 of Black Creek, WI, passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side on Thursday, August 3, 2023.
She was born on September 19, 1937 in Cicero, IL, daughter of Frank and Ann (Kross) Rohlicek. In the early 1950’s, they moved to Couderay, WI and purchased the Shady Nook Resort, where she met the “Love of Her Life” and high school sweetheart, Fred Kerk. She was honored in 1955 by representing Hayward WI Musky Festival as the 1955 Musky Queen and did many States wide Shows and Events.
In 1956, she married Fred Kerk at the Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico. They had 2 children and moved to Appleton, WI and had 3 more children: Sheila, Fred, Leslie, Lory and Dwaine. She always said that she had a good life of 85 years. Renee’s passions were gardening, flowers, and animals (and she had animals: dogs, cats, birds, goats, horses, chickens, raccoons, skunk, woodchuck and deer. I think she worked just to feed the animals. You could always find her outside with a cup of coffee with her dogs and cats and a warm and inviting smile. She will forever be loved and missed by many.
Renee is survived by her children, Sheila, Fred Jr. (Diane), Leslie and Dwaine (Donna); her grandchildren and step grandchildren and many great grandchildren; in-laws Jacob (Sue), Mae, Shirley (Kenny), Bernard (Eva), Gerry (Marie) and Margaret. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Fred, parents Frank Rohlicek and Ann Rolick; (Jake and Elanor Kirk); in-laws Billy, Harvey, Roger and Geraldine; daughter Lory; son-in-law Tony and grandson Jeremy.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
