Ray, age 68, surrounded by his family, entered God’s Kingdom on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, after a hard battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Bavaria, Germany on January 9, 1953 to Charles and Walburga Weiss. He married Luann in 1977 and they had 43 wonderful years together. Ray worked for Kohl’s Department Store and Presto Products. We will all miss him very much.
During retirement he loved spending time with his family, working in his yard, and traveling to see the grandchildren. He always enjoyed getting together with family and friends for special occasions.
Ray is survived by his wife Luann, children Robert (Rachel), Alan, Christine (Adam), two grandsons (Viktor and Henry), sister Sharon (Gary), brother Ron, aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and maternal relatives in Germany and other relatives and friends.
Ray would like to thank God for all the blessings he has received here on earth and his family, friends, neighbors, and Pastor Raasch for all their support and helpful talks during these past months. Also, Dr. Ganser and the entire hospice team for their compassion and care that was greatly appreciated. Funeral services will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church on June 25, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service. The service will be livestreamed at mountoliveappleton.com. Social distancing is requested.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Salem Landmark Church Restoration Fund, c/o WELS Historical Institute, N16 W23377 Stone Ridge Drive, Waukesha, WI 53185-1108 or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at pancan.org.
