Randy Jones

Randy Jones, age 67, of Appleton, passed away on Monday, August 28th following complications of a stroke. He was born on February 20th, 1956 in Oshkosh, son of Robert and Esther (Juedes) Jones. He graduated from Oshkosh North, later attending Fox Valley Tech and Lakeland College. On May 28th, 1982, Randy married Laurie Gaab, and they settled in Appleton.

Randy worked in the paper and printing industry, retiring early at the age of 60. After his retirement, he took a welding course and made many yard decorations for himself and his family. Randy's favorite times were spent sitting on his patio in the sun, grilling, and listening to music. 

Randy is survived by his wife of 41 years, Laurie, their three children, Jenn, Lisa, and Bob (Sonya) and their daughter Carly Jones, all of Appleton, one brother, Warren (Lynn) Jones, a sister, Linda (Jack) Verwiel; brothers-in-law, Mark (Barb) Gaab, Dan (Dawn) Gaab, and Bob (Kay) Gaab; sisters-in-law, Ellen Svacina, Tammi Gaab, and Jean Leonard; and many other family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Dick and Mary Gaab; brother Dennis Jones, and brothers-in law-Scott Gaab and Todd Leonard. 

A celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton, WI from 4:00pm to 7:00 pm.
