Ramona B. Timm passed away at the age of 94 at Primrose Assisted Living in Appleton on February 23, 2024. Ramona was born September 29, 1929, the daughter of Theodore and Helen (Heiss) Gast.
Ramona grew up in Oshkosh, the daughter of a cheese maker. She was raised by Theodore and Charlotte (Doemel) Gast. Following her graduation from Oshkosh High School in 1947, she worked at Dean Geer Company and Universal Motors Company.
On June 19, 1953, she married Victor R. Timm at St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed church in Oshkosh. They enjoyed 55 years together until Victor passed away in 2008. Victor and Ramona farmed in the Town of Ellington until 1958 and then moved into Appleton.
Ramona worked together with Victor in their businesses. They enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and overseas. Polka music was a favorite of theirs and they enjoyed going to dances. Ramona enjoyed biking, skiing, gardening, tending flowers, photography and attending her grandchildren’s sporting and musical events. Baseball was her favorite sport and she enjoyed going to Brewer and Timber Rattler games. She enjoyed many years of having a Christmas cookie baking day with her daughters and granddaughters.
She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her daughters and their spouses: Debra (Richard) Schmoll, Cynthia (Lawrence) Farvour, and Melanie (Ronald “Butch”) Diemel Jr. Grandchildren: Gustave (Jacklyn) Schmoll, Katherine (Robert) Schoenhard, Benjamin (Lynnette) Farvour, Laura (Donald Walsh) Farvour, Lindsey Diemel (fiancé Luis Leon), Ronald Diemel III and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Theodore (Arlene) Gast Jr and William (Virgene) Gast. and a sister-in-law Eva Timm. Ramona is further survived by her nieces and nephews, friends and wonderful neighbors.
Ramona was preceded in death by two infant children: Gregory and Peggy; sister and brother-in-law, Corrine (Richard) Paffenroth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Eleanor (Wilbert) Rahmlow, Carl (Rose) Timm, Donald (Arline) Timm, Bernice (Harold) Knutzen and Earl Timm
Ramona’s service will be on 11:00 am. Thursday, February 29th at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 129 S. Mason Street, Appleton, with Rev. Jon Kuske officiating. Visitation will be from 9am until the time of service. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, WELS, or Moments Hospice.
