Patsy (Knutson) Trudell

Patsy (Knutson) Trudell age 88 of Appleton, WI passed away on January 24, 2026 peacefully surrounded by family at home. She was born on October 22, 1937. Patsy was the daughter of the late Gertrude and Clarence Knutson who preceded her in death.

On February 16, 1957, she was united in marriage with Raymond Trudell, and they shared 68 years together. They had four beautiful children. They lived most of their life on Charlotte Street in Appleton.

Patsy loved her family and friends very much and always surrounded herself with pictures of them. She loved visiting and sitting on her porch in the warm weather. Raymond and Pasty spent most of their life together enjoying outdoor activities like camping as well as travelling - especially to Florida. Patsy took amazing care of Raymond as well as their children. Throughout her life she was an active person and loved the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Patsy is survived by her husband Raymond Trudell, a son-in-law Edward Kirk, daughter-in-law Carol Reitz, ten grandchildren including Stacey (Trudell) Foley, Tom Trudell, Ben Trudell, Sarah (Kirk) Romnek, Joseph Kirk, Christine and Jamie Johnson, Jesse Williams, Donald Reitz, and Angie (Reitz) Ruehle. She is survived by fourteen great-grandchildren including Ryley and Bradyn Foley, Levi Niemuth and Riley Menore, Chase Trudell, Tucker and Piper Romnek, Chloe, Lucas, and Micah Kirk, Austin and Hunter Reitz, and Zachary and Haley Ruehle.

Patsy is preceded in death by her four children Kevin Trudell, Thomas Trudell, Julie (Trudell) Kirk, and Pamela (Trudell) Johnson as well as her son-in-law Tim Johnson. She is also preceded by sisters and brothers-in-law including Janet and Paul Genningen, Ruth and Dick Jochman, Norma and Ron Knuth, and Ole Olson.

Thank you very much to all friends and family that have supported and cared for Patsy Trudell during her last days of life. A very special thank you to Bristol Hospice Services including Dr. Scott Schinschke, Nurse Daniella, social worker Hallie, and chaplain Gina. Your care and compassion provided for all of us is more than we could have asked for.

A small intimate service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton.  A time of visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
