Obituary

Patrick Lloyd Susor, formerly of Menasha, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Patrick was born April 21, 1955 in Wausau, Wis., the son of Robert (deceased) and Anna Mae Susor.  After suffering for 5 years with Cerebellar Ataxia, Patrick met his Lord and Savior.

Patrick was a creative, talented man who loved the outdoors, gardening, travel, cooking entertaining and interior design. He had many jobs in his lifetime and his love of travel made for an exciting life. He managed to go from one side of the US to the other and had the opportunity to use all of his talents!

His love for cooking allowed him to be employed by many restaurants; Perkins in Appleton, where he was chef and kitchen manager, chef at the popular Coffee Trader in Milwaukee and on the main kitchen staff at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, CA.  He was able to put his designer talent to great use working for Liz’s Architectural Antiques in Hollywood CA and Atlas Paint and Design in Cherry Hill, NJ. He also did a landscaping project for the condo community he lived in.  Patrick returned home to the loving support of his family in July 2019.

Living such a fulfilling life, along his journey, Patrick collected many dear friends.

From grade school in WI Patrick met Barb Olson and Richard Mentzel, two people that were fun to be with and steadfast in friendship! They were BUDS to the end. Patrick kept in touch with them through the years. While in CA, Joe and Justin were both great friends that touched his life in a special way. There is another person that touched Patrick’s life in a special way. In 2009, Patrick found the love of his life!  Shalby Sunkett who stole his heart! The relationship has been strong for 12years! Shal was here the last week of his life to spend 5 wonderful days with Patrick. It was a special time for both of them!

Patrick is survived by his mother: Anna Susor; his siblings: Linda (Bob) Gardinier, Michael (Brenda), Gene (Shelly), Rick, Lisa (Pat) Haak, Jeff (Stacy), and Scott (Sheila); 8 nieces and nephews and 7 grand nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his father; sisters-in-law Jodi Susor, Etta Vanesky, and Diane Susor.

Our family would like to thank American Grand and staff for the loving compassion and care given to Patrick during his time at your facility.

We’d also like to thank Heartland Hospice for their compassion, experienced care and being so helpful during this time of loss. You’re all a blessing! Together, both AG and HH made a perfect team for a smooth transition and we are grateful to all involved!

The family would also like to thank Valley Funeral Home for their guidance and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, which would have been Patrick’s 66th Birthday, at Waverly Beach in Menasha from 4-7pm with a prayer service beginning at 6:30pm.

Patrick fought hard to the end and left this earth knowing he was loved by all who knew him.  We will all miss him dearly!
