Patricia (Pat) McInnes, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Appleton Retirement Community. Born March 5, 1936 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Louis and Rose (Mataya) Schell, she was united in marriage to her loving husband John McInnes on November 24, 1956.
Pat and her husband enjoyed a rich social life, often hosting, organizing or participating in group events with family and friends. Pat was loved by all the many people she met. Pat had a passion for making and savoring fine foods and excelled as a gourmet cook. She was passionate about any opportunity to enjoy food, cards, travel, golfing, the theater and sporting events. Pat and John were avid Brewers and Packer fans, holding season tickets for the latter since 1965 even attending the famous Ice Bowl of 1967.
Pat was an excellent bridge player and belonged to many clubs. She was known to strike up a game wherever she happened to be. She and her husband were members of a local Adventure Club, and enjoyed traveling to many places in the US and Europe, including France, Greece, Italy, the UK, Canada, and Bermuda. Pat especially enjoyed a trip to Croatia and Hungary where she was able to meet relatives in her grandparents’ birthplace.
When not traveling or entertaining, Pat served as a member of the Genevieve Paulson Circle of King’s Daughter and volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels for many years. After her children were grown, Pat worked as a commercial lines representative for Insurance Services. She was incredibly proud and supportive of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved being their Mom and especially Mimi.
Pat is survived by her children: Julianne (Dave Witthuhn) Champeau, Jeanne (Paul) Tarvin, John (Cheri) McInnes; grandchildren: Ethan Tarvin, Lauren (Ryan O’Flaherty) Tarvin, Avery (Maylin Marines) McInnes, Skylar McInnes, Dawson McInnes; great grandchildren: Asher McInnes and Julia O’Flaherty. She was preceded in death by her husband, John McInnes and parents, Louis and Rose Schell.
Private family services will be held.
