Nancy Lee Dorothy Edwards passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 8, 1931 the daughter of the late Antone and Dorothy (Villeneuve) Nesberg. She was a 1948 graduate of Peshtigo High School and went on to get a degree in Primary Education at the Wisconsin State College in Oshkosh. She started her teaching career at the Park school in Marinette and taught at Neighborhood Nursery School for 10 years.
On August 7, 1954 Nancy was united in marriage to Alden Parline Edwards at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Peshtigo. They met on April 25, 1953 at an Arthur Murray’s studio. Al asked her to dance to the Blue Skirt Waltz, and Nancy was wearing her blue skirt. They had a strong, loving marriage of 61 years during which they shared many more dances and wrote many letters. Nancy adored her children and loved spending time with her grandchildren, who she often played piano for. Her faith was important to her and she prayed for her children and grand children and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren every night. She was a wonderful wife, a wonderful mother, and a wonderful grandmother. She loved dancing and watching birds. She loved her friends and family and called them often. Her favorite songs to play on the piano were Blue Skirt Waltz, In the Mood, and Night and Day. She liked gardening, rollerblading, rhubarb, apples, and apple trees.
Nancy is survived by her daughter and four sons: Patricia (Dennis) Hassell, Mark (Ritsuko) Edwards, Paul (Carla) Edwards, Jay (Judy) Edwards, and John (Jeanette) Edwards; her sister-in-law, Joyce Nesberg; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is further remembered and celebrated by many other relatives and friends, and she will always keep a special place in their hearts.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alden Parline Edwards; and her brothers: John (Mary Lou) Nesberg and Paul Nesberg.
