Nancy Gradl, age 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep after her difficult battle with dementia. She was born in 1933 in Appleton, WI to Howard and Jennie Van Ooyen. Nancy lived her entire life in Appleton and was loved by many.
Nancy is survived by her brother, Bill Van Ooyen, her three children: Rob (Bonnie) Fink, Bill (Lori) Fink, and Amy Fink, as well as her four stepchildren: Steve (Deb) Gradl, Anna (Randal) Files, Lisa (Bruce) Wohlrabe, and Gina (Rich) Dicostanzo. Nancy is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great - great grandchild along with several nieces and nephews.
As a young adult, Nancy work for Zwickers Knitting Mill in Appleton. Later in life, Nancy did bookkeeping for The Visiting Nurse Association of the Fox Cities, which she loved.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Jim, Mary, Ellen, and Bob, and one granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Gene Gradl.
Nancy had many hobbies throughout her life. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, painting Christmas tree ornaments, and jigsaw puzzles.

A memorial service for Nancy will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Valley Funeral Home 2211 N. Richmond St. Appleton, WI. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with the memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM.
