Maureen "Corky" Elizabeth Sokel

Maureen “Corky” Elizabeth Sokel, age 90 of Menasha entered into heaven on Saturday, June 25, 2022.  Maureen was born on August 15, 1931 to the late Harry and Mary (nee Mackin) Schommer.  Maureen was united in marriage to the love of her life, Richard Sokel Sr.

Maureen enjoyed reading, knitting, playing cards, playing bingo, crossword puzzles, and walking. She especially enjoyed her chocolate milk.  But most of all, she loved spending time with her entire family.

She is survived by her children; Corry (Elizabeth) Sokel, Richard Jr. (Mary) Sokel, Timothy (Judith) Sokel, Harold (Annie) Sokel, daughter-in-law Ann, son-in-law Brian and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Sr., daughter Barbara Fitzpatrick, grandchild Noah Sokel and many brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In lieu of flowers Maureen would have wanted you to patronize your local Irish Pub.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 30th at Sacred Heart Parish, 222 E. Fremont St in Appleton beginning at 4pm until 6pm.  Additional visitation will be held on Friday, July 1st from 10am until Catholic Mass to begin at 11am at Sacred Heart Parish.
