Mary Jane Hullett, died on Friday, June 20, 2025 at her home. Born on January 13, 1943, third daughter of William L. and Lydia A. (Johnson) Hullett. Was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, Appleton, WI. Confirmed at Hauge Lutheran Church, Chicago, Illinois. Graduated from Prescott Elementary School, 1957, and Waller High School, 1961.
Was a dental assistant for almost 20 years before entering Nurses Training at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital School of Nursing, Chicago, Illinois in 1977. Graduated Nurses Training in 1979, and began working at St. Mary’s Hospital. Continued her education at DePaul University, obtaining and Bachelor and Master’s Degree. Post-Graduate studies at Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois. Worked nights in Obstetrics for 27 years before retiring to Appleton to be with her family.
Hobbies included: playing her accordion, reading a lot of books, crocheting, baking, ice skating (dancing on skates), and making beautiful Christmas ornaments.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents: William L. and Lydia A. Hullett, grandparents Ole and Christina Johnson, Ollie and Ada Hullett, sister Alice May, brother William L.O. Hullett, and sister Jean Ann Buelow. Survivors include: nieces Amanda A. Twogood, and Christinia M. Ehlers. Great nieces and nephew Jesse, KC, Katelin, Aaron, and Alycia Celeste Twogood, Great-great Aunt to Mason and Olivia.
Funeral Service for Mary will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at Valley Funeral Home (2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton). Friends and family will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
