Marvin Clifford Schimmelpfenning 

Marv passed away on June 9, 2026, at Ballard Glenn Assisted Living in Appleton. Marv was born July 8, 1928, in Appleton WI to Ernest and Mabel (Hoffman) Schimmelpfennig and married Marion Nabbefeld on March 15, 1952.

Marv graduated from Appleton High School in 1946 and went to Electronics School in Chicago with his brother Norm. He was drafted into the Army during the Korean war, was trained on using radar systems and was stationed on Staten Island. Marion and Marv married while he was still in the army. 

Together they built the house that they lived in until recently. Marv worked for the United States Postal Service both as a postal carrier and a building supervisor. After Marv retired, he volunteered with Senior Net by teaching computer courses at FVTI. He would refurbish computers from people that no longer wanted them and then donate the refurbished system to families/kids that needed a computer. Overall, he refurbished and gave away almost 200 computers. As a family, we spent a lot of time camping with other friends/families. 

Marv is survived by his children, Dawn (Rod Maccoux) Fisher, Jerry (Barbara) Schimmelpfenning, Ron (Mary) Schimmelpfenning, grandchildren, Aaron Fisher, Ben (Melissa) Schimmelpfenning, Rachel Schimmelpfenning and great-grandchildren, Braydon, Kaleb, Anna, Dylan and Wyatt, sister, Ruth Ziegler and many other nieces and nephews.

Marv was preceded in death by his wife, Marion, parents, Ernest and Mabel Schimmelpfennig, brothers, Norman (Lorraine) Schimmelpfenning and Earl (Dona) Schimmelpfenning, sister Doris (Raymond) Handler, brother-in-law Ray Hertzfeld, in-laws Clement and Ceil Nabbefeld, grandson Jason Fisher, and many friends and other relatives.

Thank you to Care Patrol, everyone at Ballard Glenn Assisted Living and St. Croix Hospice for all their care and kindness taking care of Dad.
