Marvin Earl “Papa” Kamke, age 84 died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday February 1st 2021. Marvin was born January 26, 1937 in the town of Center Valley, son of the late Edward and Elsie (Koehler) Kamke. He attended Hortonville area schools and was united in marriage to Maxine Delzer in New London on June 10th, 1966. Marvin was employed with the Hortonville Toy Company for several years before Marvin and Melvin Owned and Operated Pleasant View Tavern in Bear Creek. He also was a baker for a few years with Tastee Bakery of Appleton and then worked Mark’s East Side Supper Club. Papa was one of the biggest Packer fans and never missed a game. One of Papas greatest accomplishments was taking care of all his grandchildren that loved him dearly. Marvin spent the last 30 years with a special friend Ginger Heindl with whom they both cared for grandchildren.
‘Marvin is survived by his children Teresa Verhoven, Neenah; Tracy Kamke; Appleton. Matthew (Tina) Kamke, Appleton; Tammy (David) Wilson, Kaukauna; Robin (Sara) Kamke, Appleton; April (Taylor) Kamke Appleton. Eric Heindl whom Marvin raised as a son, Seymour. His grandchildren Tasha(Madison), Donald Jr(Sarah), Jacob, Brett, Bradley, James “Bubba” (Tori), Bentley, Tera (Dan), Shawn, Rebecca, Ethan, Destiny, Axel, Matthew, Adrian, Gabby, Kammie, Kaleah and many great-grandchildren.
Marvin was also preceded in death by his wife Maxine, twin brother Melvin and sister-in-law Evelyn, brothers Bob and Clarence Kamke, sister Erna Steffen, and granddaughter Ashley Wilson.
A private funeral service will be on Saturday February 6th, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church Appleton, WI. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is established in Marvin’s name.
