Marlene Brosman-Sippel
Marlene passed away on December 26, 2021. Marlene was born May 6, 1938 in Racine Wisconsin to Hilary and Margaret Merchle. Marlene’s mother passed away when she was three. Marlene liked to say that she was raised by her older sister Joyce.
Marlene was united in marriage to Marvin Brosman on January 7, 1961. That year the first of four sons was born. Mark, followed by Steven, David, and then Carl. As Marlene loved to say to anyone who would listen, “I have 4 boys under 5.”
Marvin & Marlene were married for 47 years before Marv passed away in 2008. They were lucky enough to see all of their sons married and to enjoy 10 grandchildren.
On Sept. 4, 2010, Marlene married the second love of her life, Harold (Dusty) Sippel. Marlene welcomed Harold’s family into her life with open arms.
Those that knew Marlene were definitely in for a treat. Within minutes you would know everything about her and her family (whether you wanted to or not), and she didn’t mind telling you her opinion, politically correct or not. Some of her favorite lines were “Let me heat that up for you”, “What am I, chopped liver?” and “What, you’re leaving? You just got here.” Marlene loved cards, especially bridge and sheepshead, and musicals. She enjoyed collecting bells and coffee mugs from around the world. She drove bus for Valley Transit, helped run St. Josephs food pantry, and volunteered at the Performing Arts Center. Marlene attended Assembly of God and later Christ the Rock, and was part of numerous Bible Study groups.
