It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marianne Keevill Leick on October 14 at the age of 83. Born with a remarkable spirit, Marianne’s life was defined by love, resilience, and a profound dedication to her family.
Mary became a wife and mother early in life, achieving both before turning 20. After welcoming three beautiful daughters, she found her soul mate and best friend, Ken, with whom she shared a long, loving marriage. Together, they expanded their family with two sons, completing the family that became her world. Her life was filled with joy as she watched her family grow, always cherishing time with her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family was Mary’s greatest passion, and she had a special gift for hosting unforgettable family gatherings. She took immense pride in finding the perfect gifts for everyone, making it her mission to bring happiness to her loved ones. Her faith was a central part of her life, and Christ the Rock Church helped her deepen her understanding of love and compassion. She lived her life as a testament to kindness, empathy, and grace.
Mary had a soft spot for classic tunes, especially the timeless hits of Neil Diamond. While “Sweet Caroline” was a favorite, we like to imagine it as “Sweet Marianne, Bah Bah Bah!”
Following in her father’s footsteps, Mary worked at Kimberly Clark within four decades. Her dedication and hard work were instrumental. She received several company awards and patents, domestic and international. A source of immense pride and satisfaction for her and her family.
Mary was a wonderful cook, known for her legendary brownies, which were always the first empty pan at every party. She also made outstanding meatballs, meatloaf, and chocolate chip cookies, perfecting both crispy and chewy textures. Her home was the backdrop to countless holiday dinners and celebrations, where food and laughter flowed in abundance. Her grandchildren will forever cherish memories of epic pillow fights, thanks to her vast collection of pillows that transformed every visit into a playground of joy.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Ken, as well as her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion.
She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
