Marian Breitenfeldt Obituary

Marian M Breitenfeldt, child of God, passed from this life into Eternal Life on Jan 31, 2025.  Born to George A Bauer and Lillian E (Behnke) Bauer Oct 13, 1930 at home on Behnke Rd in the Town of Mukwa.  Baptized at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London and confirmed at St Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega.  She taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.  After graduating from Weyauwega High School she was employed by AAL (Aid Association for Lutherans, now Thrivent) until she married. She had 5 children from that union: Mary, Kristie, Susan, Debra and Thomas.

In 1973 she married Earl A Breitenfeldt Sr at Grace Lutheran Church in Appleton, where they met, combining their families into one.  They were blessed with 44 years and both were active in their church.  Marian taught Sunday School and Wednesday classes for many years and attended Bible studies.  She served on the Evangelism Board, witnessing to God’s love and goodness and promises of forgiveness and eternal life in Jesus.

Marian was employed many years in accounting and tax preparation.  She enjoyed gardening and music.  Together, she and Earl enjoyed concerts, camping, RVing, fishing, hunting and going to children and grandchildren’s concerts, sporting and other events.  They took many trips throughout the US and Canada. The times their grandchildren joined them on fishing trips to Canada and elsewhere were extra special.

She is survived by children: Mary Ganzel, Susan (Larry) Habeck, Debra (Jeffrey) Kottke, Thomas Ganzel, Paul (Laurie) Breitenfeldt, Dale (Donna) Breitenfeldt.  Grandchildren: Brock (Tanya) Joosten, Brooke (Carl) Thorpe, Janelle Habeck,  Michael (Dana) Habeck, Cassie (Greg Prellwitz) Kottke, Forrest Kottke, Hunter Ganzel, Logan Ganzel, Meghan (Marc) Bowen, David Zierk, Heidi Breitenfeldt, Clara (Toney) Rogers, Tyler Breitenfeldt, Briana (Andy) Wright, Kyle Breitenfeldt.  Great Grandchildren: Oliver, Hailey, Lillian, Jacksyn, Kyle, Jalen, Blaise, Degan, Zayn, Malaki, Toney Jr.  Also surviving are sons-in-law: Norm Zierk and Hank Joosten, granddaughter-in-law Elizabeth Breitenfeldt, brother-in-law Lowell Bubolz, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband Earl, children Kristie Joosten, Vera Zierk, and Earl Breitenfeldt Jr, grandchildren Christopher Joosten and Ben Breitenfeldt, sister Deloris Bubolz, brother Donald (Carole) Bauer, nieces Lori, Cheri, Connie, nephew Kevin, sisters-in-law Joanne Breitenfeldt and Gertrude Breitenfeldt. 

Services for Marian will be held April 12, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 1:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
