Maria Alida Rees

Maria Alida Rees, 66, passed away at her home on Monday, February 16, 2026.  Alida was born in Mexico on December 1, 1959.  She was united in marriage to Gary Rees on July 21, 1979, in Richland, Washington.

Alida enjoyed travelling to exotic destinations around the world. She loved being surrounded by natural beauty in the mountains and forests. Her hobbies included beekeeping, bird watching and feeding the birds and hummingbirds on her property. She was passionate about spending time with her family, friends and her four cats. She spent many years as a massage therapist and later in life transitioned to being a spiritual counselor. She had a beautiful community, whom she loved to gather with for healings and ceremonies.

Alida is survived by her husband Gary Rees, her daughter Adriana and son Jason, her 3 grandchildren Maya, Lily and Georgia and her sisters Rosalba, Lorena, Blanca and her brother Jaime.

A time of visitation for Alida will be held on March 6th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St, Appleton, Wisconsin.
