Greenville-Margaret (Maggie) L. Ort went to Heaven, February 7, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 14, 1944, in Sagola, MI, to the late Fabian Steinbrecher and Luella (Ruggles) Steinbrecher. She graduated from Felch High School in 1963, and with her best friend Diane, moved to Chicago, IL to find employment. In 1964, she met Neil Ort from Black Creek, WI who had also moved to Chicago for school and employment. They were married on February 27, 1965, in Felch, MI and were just three weeks short of celebrating 55 years together. After the wedding they moved to the Appleton, WI area where Maggie worked at the National Bank until they started a family. After the youngest of their four children started school, Maggie worked part-time until her retirement. In 2002, Maggie and Neil started and worked together in a new business (North Shore Contracting) building new homes in the Appleton area. For the past fifteen years, Maggie and Neil have enjoyed summers at their cottage on Moshawquit Lake and six weeks of winter on the beaches in Cancun, Mexico. Maggie enjoyed cooking and baking the most delicious desserts. She also enjoyed traveling to other states and abroad to see more of God’s creation, which brought her great joy. In the summer she enjoyed flowers and plant gardening. Another favorite past time was reading a good book. Maggie had strong faith in her creator and savior and trusted in him to guide her through life and to hold her hand when she needed him. Maggie always enjoyed cooking for others, especially holiday gatherings with all the children, grandchildren and recent great-grandchildren. A fabulous dinner and dessert would be enjoyed by all.
