Margaret Cebula Obituary

Margaret Grasse Cebula passed away March 16, 2025. Meg, as she was known by her family and friends, was not just her nickname, but also her childhood monogram, Margaret Ellen Grasse, or ‘GEM’ backwards, as her Dad lovingly told her.

Born September 24th, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio, and a graduate of Rhinelander High School in 1973, Meg was one of six siblings, two of whom preceded her in death: Marcia A. McCann and Mark K. Grasse.

Meg is survived by a son, Bryan J. Cebula (Elizabeth Smith), and a daughter, Darcie E. Cebula, both of California. Her three grandchildren, Matthew S., Eli J., and Harper A. Cebula, were the lights of her life.

Three siblings survive Meg: Mary C. Berry (James), Maureen T. Rodziczak (Jeff), Michael J. Grasse (Nicolle See), as well as the widow of Mark K., Judy Lim Grasse. Meg also had many nieces and nephews, both grand and great, who cherished her cards, but always knew to STAND BACK!

Meg was an avid gardener, as evident by the beautiful flowers and plants that filled her yard every Spring. She loved the Green Bay Packers (“Go Packers!”), although she never quite forgave Brett Favre for becoming a Minnesota Viking. Her knack for sending heartfelt, original Christmas and birthday gifts will truly be missed. Meg was also dependable and generous with her time, helping countless neighbors throughout the years and volunteering around town when she was able. Her family and friends knew her to be reliable and a great listener. Meg always made herself available, even if it was just to offer an understanding shoulder to cry on.

When Meg entered a room full of people, she always seemed to know someone and never left without knowing everyone. Meg kept her sense of humor until the very end, and her spirit, kindness and laughter will be forever missed.

A Celebration Of Life will be held at a later date, details to follow.
