Mae “Ione” (Brower) Murphy
Mae “Ione” Murphy, 85, was peacefully called to her eternal home on June 10, 2022. Mae was born April 10, 1937 in Appleton WI. The daughter of John & Lucille (Plamann) Brower. She was welcomed into God’s kingdom though holy baptism May 13, 1937. Mae professed her faith on her Confirmation, March 18, 1951. Baptism and confirmation at First English Lutheran Church by Pastor F C Reuter. Mae “Ione” lived in Green Bay for many years and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. Her Christian faith was an important part of her life, which she loved to share and remind others of God’s love. She enjoyed singing in church choir, teaching Sunday School and sewing quilts for missions and gardening.
She graduated from Appleton High School on June 9, 1955. She graduated from Technical College. Mae worked at JC Penny’s, Elks Odd Fellows, Kruegers Sewing and retired from Shopko Corporate Office.
Mae is survived by a son, Timothy Murphy, Green Bay, a daughter, Patricia (Murphy) Denny, Green Bay, two grandsons, Jacob Denny, Anthony Topel as well as nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Lucille (Plamann) Brower, two sisters & brother-in-laws Betty (Norman) Kasten, Geraldine (Eugene) Gradl.
Christian burial will be held on June 15, 2022 at 2pm at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Appleton, WI with Rev Rufus Kudee, Calvary Lutheran Church, Green Bay WI officiating. “Come to me all who are weary and burden and I will give you rest.”
