Lyle R. Gorges

Lyle Raymond Gorges passed away in the loving arms of his parents, Grant and Kailey (Winterfeldt) Gorges, shortly after his birth on August 26, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, Wisconsin.

Lyle suffered from bilateral renal agenesis. Despite his condition, he was born a big and beautiful baby who possessed the strength to give his family two precious hours with him on earth.

Lyle’s short life was a blessing, and his family is mourning yet joyful in knowing that his life and memory have a purpose in God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Lyle met Jesus at the other end of a rainbow that appeared as he headed home to heaven.

Lyle is survived and loved by his mom and dad; his big sister, Ira Gorges; his maternal grandmother, Wanda Winterfeldt; his paternal grandparents, Jeff and Mary Gorges; his maternal great-grandparents, Ron and Carol Bunkleman; his paternal great-grandmother, LaVonne “Bonnie” Gorges; his aunts and uncles, including Erika Winterfeldt, Jayson (Brittney) Winterfeldt, Tyler (Jennifer) Winterfeldt, Shane (Bridget) Winterfeldt, Ashley (Tyler) Szymanski, Paige (Ryan) McInerney, Claire (Marshall) Morrin, Blake Gorges, and his many loving cousins.

Lyle is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wesley Winterfeldt; his aunt, Alanna Winterfeldt; his maternal great-grandparents, Russel and Idella Winterfeldt; his paternal great-grandfather, LeRoy Gorges; his paternal great-grandparents, Paul and Barbara Van Eperen.

Lyle’s Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Greenville, N2385 Municipal Dr., on Thursday, September 3 at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will begin one hour prior at 3:00 p.m., and his burial will immediately follow in the parish cemetery.
