Lola Dorsett Obituary

It is the end of an era, and the loss of a legend. Lola Ann Dorsett, the Matriarch of the Dorsett Family, died at the august age of 99 in her home at Dimensions Living Appleton* on January 11, 2025. She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.

Lola Ann Korkos was born on November 9, 1925, to John and Katherine Korkos. Her only sibling, Richard, was born two years later. In 1948, she married Robert Dalzell; together they had two children, Kathleen and Michael. Both Robert and Michael predeceased her.

In 1961, Lola married Clyde Hershel Dorsett, the father of Clyde, Richard, and Mark; they adopted each other's children. Lola and Clyde had three more children, Abbie, Karen, and Lisa. After Clyde's death in 1968, Lola raised her family with love, resilience, tenacity, and hard work.

She was a Widow of Prayer, N.U.D.G.E. Matriarch (42 years, which is Douglas Adams' the numerical answer to life, the universe, and everything), Salvatorian Mission Warehouse Volunteer (many years), Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Leader (27 years), St. Pius X Volunteer, and Nurse Cadet Corps graduate. She is survived by six children (Sr. Felicity [Kathleen], Richard (daughter-in-law Darlene Dorsett), Mark (daughter-in-law Karen Casey), Abbie (son-in-law David Henrickson), Karen (son-in-law Scott Yahr) and Lisa, eight grandchildren (Rachael, Steven, Shane, Trixie, Eric, Mariah, Krista, and Elora), and fifteen great grandchildren (Lane, Dexter, Pepper, Jack, Alice, Chase, Alexis, Brooklyn, Jared, Lily, Parker, Emelia, Deckard, Oswin, and Raiden).

Lola touched so many lives in so many ways. It's impossible to measure her impact.

Lola will always be dancing to the music, playing Trivia and Scrabble, solving murders, watching Jeopardy, and exploring caves. *We will always be grateful for the loving care and support provided by Dimensions Living Appleton.
