Ligia Hernandez

Surrounded by Love, Peace, and Hope, we said our goodbyes to our beloved mamá Ligia, age 90, of Appleton, WI. Our mom received the gift of a very purposeful and meaningful life and was well prepared when the call came to depart to her eternal home this past Thursday morning, May 16, 2024.

Ligia was born on August 23, 1933, in Armero, Colombia, a beautiful daughter to the late Paulina Frasser. She was a true gift to our world as she journeyed to become a wonderful sister, a kind friend, a devoted wife, an incredible loving mom, a devoted godmother, a sweet grandma, and a very affectionate great grandma.

She was married to the love of her life, Gabriel Hernandez, for 55 years. He preceded her in passing in 2014. The spirit of our departed mom will now continue to inspire and live on in each of her beloved children: Orlinda (Ricardo), Gabriel (Judy), Jose, Ester (Jose Felix), Luz Fanny (Pedro) and Diana Carolina (Derek). 

In addition, her grandchildren and (great grandchildren) who were the joy of her life will endure and carry on: Barbarita Linda(Aisha, Jadiel, Zoe), Chicho (Gabriel, Valentina), Andres (Gabriela), Aaron, Jacob, Carolina Diana (Adriana, Ashton, Axel, Arley), Cesar, Victor, Ivan, Taiwaly (Andre), Francisco Javier, Stefany (Lucas, Mateo) and Pedrito. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 21 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Therese, 213 E Wisconsin Ave, Appleton, with Fr Ryan Starks celebrating.The visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral. Entombment will take place in the future at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Our many thanks to the compassionate hearts of Moments Hospice. Linda, Naomi, and Brooke were amazing in their assistance to our family and in the care of Ligia this past month. Also, heartfelt thanks for the many years of loving care by Dr.Leiva and his staff who were always there for our mother in time of need.

Rodeados de amor, paz y esperanza, nos despedimos de nuestra querida mamá Ligia, de 90 años, de Appleton, WI. Nuestra madre tuvo el don de haber vivido una vida llena de propósito y significado y estaba bien preparada cuando llegó el llamado para partir hacia su hogar eterno la mañana del pasado Jueves 16 de Mayo.

Ligia nació el 23 de agosto de 1933 en Armero, Colombia, una hermosa hija de la fallecida Paulina Fraser. Nuestra mamá fue un verdadero regalo para nuestro mundo en su jornada de la vida se convirtió en una hermana maravillosa, una amiga amable, una esposa devota, una madre increíblemente amorosa, una dedicada madrina, una dulce abuela y una bisabuela muy afectuosa.

Estuvo casada con el amor de su vida, Gabriel Hernández, durante 55 años. Él la precedió en su despedida a la vida Eterna en 2014.

El espíritu de nuestra madre ahora continuará inspirando y viviendo en cada uno de sus amados hijos: Orlinda (Ricardo), Gabriel (Judy), José, Ester (José Félix), Luz Fanny (Pedro) y Diana Carolina (Derek ).

Diana (Adriana, Ashton, Axel, Arley), César, Víctor, Iván, Taiwaly (Andre), Francisco Javier, Stefany (Lucas, Mateo) y Pedrito.

Se llevará a cabo una misa de entierro Cristiano el Martes 21 de Mayo a las 5:00 p.m. en St. Teresita, 213 E Wisconsin Ave, Appleton, con el Padre Ryan Starks oficiando. El velorio será desde las 3:30 p.m. hasta el momento del funeral. El entierro tendrá lugar en el futuro en el cementerio católico de St.Joseph.

Queremos darle Muchas gracias a Moments Hospice por los cariños, amor y amabilidad para con nuestra mama en sus últimos momentos. Linda, Naomi y Brooke fueron increíbles en su asistencia a la familia y en el cuidado de Ligia el mes pasado. Además, nuestro más sincero agradecimiento por los muchos años de atención dedicada y amorosa por parte del Dr. Leiva y su personal, quienes siempre estuvieron ahí para ayudar a nuestra madre en momentos de necesidad.
