Leon Phillip Meyer

Leon Phillip Meyer, age 92 of New London, died on February 13, 2021 at 9:32 pm. He was born October 29th, 1928 in New London, WI son of the late Hiram and Cora (Bacheller) Meyer. He attended schools in the Bear Creek area and moved to New London in 1947, where he married Bina Mae Velie on June 10th, 1947. They lived in the New London area throughout their married life. He worked at the Shiocton Kraut Factory, American Plywood in New London, Kawell Motors, and Don’s Sports Cars, and lastly operated an Auto Body Shop at his home on Dey Road, near New London. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He and his wife also enjoyed Square Dancing and Bowling. He retired in 1992.

He is survived by his two daughters, Sharon Thompson, husband Harold, Kentucky; and Ruth Parish, New London; two sons, Phillip Meyer, wife Bonnie, Antigo WI; and Lee Meyer, wife Teresa, Homosassa, FL.

Also surviving are two brothers, Clyde Meyer, wife Gladys, Bear Creek; Wesley Meyer, wife Mickey, Oneida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He has six grandsons and one granddaughter, and six great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter, one great-great granddaughter and two great-great grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bina Meyer, brother, Duane Meyer and wife Alice.

Cremation will occur and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a Memorial fund has been established.
