Lawrence “Larry” John Brinkman age 76 of Appleton, WI passed away peacefully at ThedaCare Appleton Medical Center on Friday, September 10, 2021.
Larry was born May 26, 1945, the son of the late Otto J. Brinkman and Margaret (Riehl) Brinkman. On April 14, 1964 he met the love of his life Patricia King, they were married on August 9, 1968 and enjoyed 57-½ years together. He served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He retired from the Outagamie County Highway Department after 33 years of employment. He was passionate about working on and restoring cars, and fixing anything whether broken or not. When not at home Larry could be found at Tim’s Auto Body, the plumbing shop, and other places just lending a hand or fixing something for anyone who needed help.
Larry is survived by his wife Pat and four children; Tammy Fredericks, Tim (Luann) Brinkman, Tina (Jon) Eggeman, and Tanya (Todd) Viegut, ten grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. He is further survived by three brothers; Charles Brinkman, Dennis Brinkman, David (Pat) Brinkman, four sisters; Carol Hemmen, Janice (Nick) Woldt, Linda Wichman, Barb (Tom) Oswald, three sisters-in-law; Marilyn Brinkman, Beverly Hahn, Jean (Mark) Olk, and brother-in-law Mike (Karie) King, as well as many nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Jack Brinkman, sister and brother-in-law Betty (John) Best, brothers-in-law Dean Hahn, Ken Wichman, and Everett (Bud) King, sisters-in-law Barb Brinkman and Nancy Brinkman.
To all of Larry’s many acquaintances and friends who became family over the years, thank you for being there for him and remember that he wanted us all to “Just be happy”.
