La'Lett C.J. Howe passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at ThedaCare in Neenah.
She was born on August 10, 1949 in Appleton to the late Gerald and Mary (Cavanaugh) Lahn. La'Lett was united in marriage to Allan "Al" Howe on May 4, 1968.
Throughout those 56 years, she and Al lived in the Appleton area and La'Lett worked for Menasha Corporation in the packaging division for nearly 20 years.
Some of her favorite things (past and present) included: spending time with family, caring for her cats, being 'snowbirds' in Arizona, going on road trips in their convertible, and Starbucks Mocha Frappuccinos!
A wonderful mother, grandmother, and most recently promoted to great-grandmother, La'Lett dedicated her life to her family and was lovingly referred to as "Grammy" by her two granddaughters.
She was especially close to her sister Darlene, and spent nearly every Sunday afternoon with her. Whether they were going shopping, to the movies, or just out for a quick hamburger, La'Lett could always be ready at the drop of a hat to enjoy the day with her lifelong best friend.
La'Lett is survived by her husband, Allan Howe; son, Chad (Richelle) Howe; granddaughters: Courtney (Tom) Van Den Avond, Caylee Howe (special friend Emily Crkvenac); great grandson Ozzie Van Den Avond; sister, Darlene (Jeff) Vande Voort; and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Mary Lahn; brother, Harold Lahn; and infant son, Lloyd Howe.
A memorial service for La'Lett will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday June 5, 2024 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N Richmond Street, Appleton. Visitation will take place on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of service. Inurnment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
Despite numerous health challenges throughout her life, La'Lett always maintained a positive attitude and never complained, even when faced with an uphill battle. Her strength and courage was truly inspiring.
Fly high, sweet Grammy.. we love you and are forever thankful for our time with you. Hope the mocha frappes taste wonderful in Heaven!
