Kenneth N. Guilbault

Kenneth N. Guilbault, age 67 of Appleton, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022. As the 5 planets aligned, he followed the path to heaven.

Ken was born June 16, 1955, in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Norman and Gloria (Jacobs) Guilbault. He graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High in 1974. Upon graduation, he went to work for Worzalla Publishing from 1974 to 1991 as a Lead Journeyman Bookbinder. As an amateur inventor, he designed and built an attachment for one of the machines at Worzalla’s which saved on the spoilage of books. He went on to Lancaster, PA, in 1992 and worked for various bookbinders. In 2005 the family moved back, to Wisconsin, settling in Appleton.  Where he continued his career at Independent Printing. In his retirement years, he was employed at Meijer’s, a job he loved and looked forward to daily.

Ken enjoyed model railroads, robot Legos, and reproducing Davinci’s past model inventions. He was a huge sci-fi fan, especially Dr. Who and Star Trek. One of his favorite Dr. Who quotes is, “Time is the space made by our lives where we stand together, forever." But above all, he loved spending time with his family and granddaughter.

Ken married his high school sweetheart, Nadine Pudroski, on June 26, 1976, in Stevens Point, where they had two children, Jacob and Laurie. He was preceded in death by his daughter Laurie (Guilbault) Colon.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, son Jacob, granddaughter Donavyn O’Connell, and sister Kathy Burke of Seattle, WA. Additionally, he will be remembered by his mother-in-law Mary Jane (Morey) Pudroski, brothers-in-law Steve and Linda (Wimme) Pudroski, Alan and Mary Jo (Shupirt) Pudroski, sister-in-law Jerry and Nanci (Pudroski) Samuelson, a niece and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the Appleton EMTs and Theda Care Hospice for their tender care, compassion and rapid assistance. Visitation will be on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond Street, Appleton. There will be a brief service during this time from 9-11am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established at a later time.  Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton on a later date.
