Kay Xiong (Tooj), 62, of Appleton, WI peacefully passed away on July 19th, 2024, with her family lovingly by her side.
Kay was born in Laos on June 15th, 1962, to Nao Shoua Thao and Mee Yang. In 1976, Kay married her husband, Thai Xiong and had 8 beautiful children: Youa Lee (Chue Lee), Lou Xiong (Dang Thao), Teng Xiong (Mai Tong Chang), Lee Pao Xiong (Ong Xiong), Pahoua Xiong (Vang Meng Lee), Thao Xiong, Brenda Xiong (Seesuvan Xiong), and Malianna Xiong (Jim K. Lor). Kay had the great pleasure of being a grandmother to 23 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who she greatly treasured and loved. Kay and her family came from Laos and since then settled in Appleton, WI.
Kay was a beacon of warmth and wisdom to those surrounding her. She was known to be an avid gardener where her family was able to enjoy the harvest of her hard work. On her free time, she could also be seen sewing and listen to the Hmong flute. Kay’s life was anchored in the family she built with her doting husband. Her best memories are surrounded by those who she cherished, her children and grandchildren.
Kay is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and brother, Vang Neng Thao. Her departure is gravely felt by her entire family and countless others who love her.
A celebration of life will be held at Richmond Hall (2531 N. Richmond St. Appleton, WI) on Saturday, July 27th through Monday, July 29th. Following the service, Kay will be laid to rest at Community Lutheran Cemetery. She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her.
