Karen E. Bruehl, a kind, loving, and strong woman who devoted her life to her family, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in Appleton at the age of 72. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew here. She was born in Madison on April 2, 1952 to the late Robert Sr. and Helen (Clarenboux) Larson.
Karen’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially crafting with her beloved grandchildren. She created countless memories with them through her creativity and love. An adventurer at heart, Karen also cherished traveling with her devoted significant other, Dick, finding joy in their shared experiences and explorations.
She has a special place in her heart for animals, particularly her Pomeranian pets and horses, which brought her endless happiness. Whether it was a peaceful day fishing by the water or enjoying the beauty of nature, Karen lived her life with gratitude and grace.
Karen’s strength and love were the foundation of her family, and leaves behind a legacy of compassion and resilience. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Karen is survived by her significant other of 26 years, Dick Moderson; daughter, Lisa Jensen(Husband Todd Jensen); Bonus Children: William Bruehl( Wife Ranae Frisbee Bruehl), Sean Moderson, Amie Masterson, Lisa Moderson; 12 grandchildren: Breanna (Husband Daniel Marcum), Bobbi (fiancé Shane Thiesse) Bruehl, Chase Jensen , Mackenzie Moderson, Layla Moderson, Aubrey Moderson, Tysen Ollie, Alexis Ollie, Ahna Moderson, Enzo Moderson, Cash Masterson; three great grandchildren, Daphne Marcum, Emmett and Everly Moderson. She was further preceded in death by her children: Carrie Ann and Shane Frenche and grandson, Tyson Kettner.
A memorial service will be at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N Richmond St, Appleton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
