Karen A. (Fialkowski) Bowden

Karen A. Fialkowski, age 48, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. She came into the world full of life on May 5, 1978, born in Milwaukee to Loretta (Miller) and Gerald Fialkowski.

On October 10, 2009, Karen married the love of her life, William Bowden. Together, they settled in Greenville, creating a warm, welcoming home where the doors were always open to family and friends. Karen loved nothing more than bringing people together to celebrate moments both big and small. When she needed a quiet escape, her happy place was the family cabin.

Karen is survived by her devoted husband, William Bowden; her loving parents, Loretta (Miller) and Gerald Fialkowski; her siblings, Amy Fialkowski, John Fialkowski, and Rebecca (JJ) Jenkins; and her cherished nieces, Annabelle and Izzy, and nephew, Owen. She also leaves behind an absolute abundance of extended family members and deeply loved friends.

Karen fiercely cherished time spent with the people she loved. She was happiest anywhere there was live music, a sunny summer patio, or a sandy beach. Add a Blue Bobber beer and a plate of jalapeño poppers, and her happiness was next level. While she famously operated on "Karen Time," she was guaranteed to show up with her infectious smile and a heart full of joy.

Her positive attitude never faded, and she constantly found inspiring ways to “lean in” to life's challenges. Though she was definitely not a fan of Wisconsin winters, she refused to let the cold slow her down. You could still find her outdoors, taking peaceful walks in the fresh snow, snowmobiling, and finding creative ways to embrace the season.

Professionally, Karen was a brilliant and dedicated leader. She spent 25 impactful years at Plexus, starting her journey as a manufacturing engineer before rising through the ranks into multiple manager and director roles. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from UW-Platteville, a Master’s in Engineering Management from MSOE, and achieved her Six Sigma Black Belt certification.

Her nieces and nephew held an incredibly special place in her heart. She never missed an opportunity to spoil them completely, while simultaneously teaching them valuable life lessons.

Karen started almost every single day with a high-energy workout. Whether it was a spin class at the YMCA, or a home routine, she loved to push her limits. An avid runner, she proudly completed numerous 5Ks, half-marathons, and a full marathon.

Though her time here was far too short, the impact she made on this world was massive. She will be forever remembered for her boundless generosity, her selfless heart, her deep humility, her love for chocolate, and her favorite TV guilty pleasures, Lifetime movies and Law & Order.

Services for Karen will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Valley Funeral Home in Greenville, Wisconsin; N1858 Greenville Dr.. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with a memorial service immediately following at 1:00 PM. For online condolences, please visit www.valleyfh.com.
