June (Cottrell) Anderson, age 90, of Grand Chute, WI, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021. Born the beloved daughter of Erwin & Inez (DeGroot) Cottrell of West De Pere, WI on May 13, 1930, one of eight children born into a Christian home during the Great Depression and World War II years. Raised by a mother who loved music and encouraged her children to use their God given abilities for good in the home, church and community. June attended Nicolet High School, West De Pere, graduating with the class of 1948. That same year she attended a Methodist Youth Rally in Cleveland, OH, where she met Harland Anderson. When Harland was assigned Student Pastor to June’s home church, they met again. They were united in Marriage, August 13, 1950 at the Oneida Methodist Church, Celebrating 66 years together before her husband’s death, November 26, 2016. Three children were born of their Marriage. June was a dedicated Wife, Mother and Grand Mother, whose faith played a very important part in her daily life. For many years she taught Christian Education and Volunteered countless hours and years to the choir and community service. Raised with six brothers, sports were a big part of her life; Ice Skating and Baseball her favorite, although she had many interests. She and Harland loved genealogy and spent many years doing the family history. Since 1978 June has been a member of Sons of Norway Lodge #491 Appleton, serving 4 years as First Lady when her husband was District 5 President. She was the proud sister to 6 brothers who served their Country in Military service from World War II to the Korean Conflict.
June leaves to mourn her passing my dear Sheldon (Lisa) Anderson, special Great Grandson Cody Kuether (Tabatha), four Grandsons and five Great Grand Children, one sister Joyce Cottrell, sisters in law, Dolores Cottrell, Nora Cottrell, Anna Reed and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding June in death beside her parents, her husband, are six brothers and two daughters, Eva Kuether, Kay Anderson and her beloved in laws, Harold & Isadora Anderson.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2211 N. Richmond St. June’s family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Riverside cemetery.
She has peace, as she now goes home to God.
