Judy Lyons

Judy Lyons, age 71, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on December 5, 2025, after a long, hard fought battle against cancer. She was born on May 13, 1954, daughter of the late Virgil and Martha Burton and grew up in Appleton. Judy met the love of her life at an early age and on April 30, 1971, she married her best friend and childhood sweetheart, Bob Lyons.

Judy enjoyed her many camping trips with her family, even camping through a tornado once. There were many laughs around the campfire and lots of games played – some favorites included cards and Rack-O. Judy kept a welcoming home and always decorated for the season; in the summer that included her beautiful flowers outside. Together with Bob, Judy enjoyed going to car shows with their ’64 Impala. They also enjoyed taking rides to the northwoods together. Judy's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. When they were young the grandkids had so much fun going on shopping sprees with Grandma at the Dollar Tree and then going back to her house for a sleepover.

Judy is survived by her husband, Bob; sons: Jim (Julie) Lyons and Dan (fiancée, Denise) Lyons; grandchildren: Amber (Jaymin) VanStippen, Marissa (special friend, Jake) Lyons and Cameron (special friend, Mikayla) Lyons; her 6 siblings and Bob's siblings. Judy was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Sheila; her parents and Bob’s parents.
